about

After high school, one my high school bands, Garrison, broke up. It was a whole thing. Don't worry about it. The drummer of that band, Nick, went off to college and started another band with his friend Neil called Metempsychosis. Early on in their music making, they were sending me demos and collaborate on and this is one of them. I wrote lyrics and recorded them at Alex's house. I was pretty happy with both the lyrics and my vocal performance even though I don't think they're anything special now. Nick felt that way back then. He was ahead of the curb.

lyrics

If I kill it now it will never be alive again
But if I pursue this I put myself at risk

Sinking in my gut
Standing up to you
Bright eyed and bushy tailed
Tell me, what can I do
To be a more peaceful man
A good postured citizen
Horrible how it changed
Because of our ignorance
Crosses in our eyes
Tissue on your tongue
You say that you've found a God
Well, I've found a better one
Call all your cattle in
Work on a battle plan
It looks like there's no such thing
As a more perfect man

If by happenstance you were saved by an intervening force
Would you claim you knew this
Or pretend that it never happened

Stabbing in your side
Brambles on your head
The zealots are gathering
Muttering "God is dead"
Delirium in the air
Their faces of vacant stares
Making a difference
When nobody really cares
Stigma in your eyes
Stain on history
You became the perfect man
That you're supposed to be
Shotgun in your hand
Sandals on your feet
The shepherd that guides us all
Is someone we've never seen

Sinking in my gut
Standing up to you
Bright eyed and bushy tailed
Tell me, what can I do
To be a more perfect man
A good postured citizen
Horrible how it changed
Because of our ignorance
Stigma in your eyes
Stain on history
You became the perfect man
That you're supposed to be
Shotgun in your hand
Sandals on your feet
The shepherd that guides us all
Is someone we've never seen

about

The Pineapple Army Michigan

I've always been terrible at writing biographies so why stop now. We're probably a band from Michigan. We don't adhere to a specific genre which causes mild schizophrenia in certain individuals. We will write commercial jingles for the right price and we do NOT play at weddings, only funerals. ... more
