about

When June/July '09 came around, I felt that I should go back to what sort of started it all and recreate a June and July album with everything we've learned over the past year. I took old songs that I liked and redid them with better production via Alex and it turned out marvelously. There was basically no where to go from here but to a studio, which is what we would do that December.

This song is named after a weird shaped bong that I had that vaguely resembled a heart. The lyrics don't seem to reflect that so much. The percussion you hear is just me tapping my foot on the microphone stand and snapping while I did my vocal takes. They're not on a separate track or anything. It just sounded cool so we went with it.

lyrics

You've got to hope that your heart doesn't float
On the water of the moat around the black hole
Your fruit won't hold on to the tree
That's gravity

The functional suction will wither reduction
Will scratch and will punch and administer touching
That reality

Wish on a star and it's sure trying hard
To get farther and further away from you all
It will soon comprehend that it's heading to its end
That's destiny

Hold in your breath, child and don't make a sound
Just admire the present and what's holding you down
Mediocrity

Pick up a pencil and hone all your senses
On censoring census under false pretenses
Cardiology will be the death of me
Cardiology will be the death of me

The Pineapple Army Michigan

I've always been terrible at writing biographies so why stop now. We're probably a band from Michigan. We don't adhere to a specific genre which causes mild schizophrenia in certain individuals. We will write commercial jingles for the right price and we do NOT play at weddings, only funerals. ... more
