about

The lyrics are mostly nonsense but the title comes from a joint that Alex and our other friend Adam (the friend dynamic was totally different then but that's so very not important to this "story") brought to... a party at Tom's house. They had written 4d20 on it and the concept was "you roll a D20 4 times and then hit the joint for that may seconds. In theory, a bit ridiculous but in execution, just as ridiculous and not really possible. We still got high though.

Even though we've never really played it live, this feels like a Pineapple Army (I'm sick of including "The" every time. Sue me.) staple to me. The outro is from a series of recordings taken from a night that changed my life. I was laying shirtless on a trampoline, just REALLY appreciating life (if you know what I mean) and then decide I need to share the glory of the trampoline with the others and go inside to do so. That's not really exciting but the night as a whole was QUITE the experience. The other things I added to the outro are Tom singing a song that he had written, Brigid singing "Happiness Is a Warm Gun" and the word "June" repeated over and over starting really fast and slowly decelerating. I know you were wondering.

lyrics

Makeup is volcanic
Elbows are grease
Have some beast volta
Be a release

And there I go
I'm a hero
Providing for you
I'm a hero

about

The Pineapple Army Michigan

I've always been terrible at writing biographies so why stop now. We're probably a band from Michigan. We don't adhere to a specific genre which causes mild schizophrenia in certain individuals. We will write commercial jingles for the right price and we do NOT play at weddings, only funerals. ... more
